The Wales head coach states the English player pool is remarkable that a boxing promoter would not match them against his Wales side.

The Welsh squad meet their neighbors in a non-competitive match at the national stadium on Thursday before their important qualifying match against Belgium next the following week.

National team coach Thomas Tuchel has left the such as Bellingham, Phil Foden and Jack Grealish from his selection for the Wales friendly and their World Cup qualifier against Latvia.

"England have a incredible team, like the French," Bellamy remarked.

"England have a transfer market value of 1.4 billion pounds, ours is £170m. If you were a boxing promoter, you would not match us up. It wouldn't be allowed."

He says ensuring Wales can compete with the star-studded rivals is a "key motivation".

The Wales head coach added: "We do not rely on market prices, but the reality is they don't just have one team. They possess two, three, four and the French and other nations are similarly stacked. England have loads of top talents and that's the honest truth."

"One right-back was ruled out injured the other day and there's only two dozen others to go! They've got over sixty footballers. I wish us to be stacked like them."

These two nations last faced each other at the 2022 tournament in Qatar, when England ran out easy victors in a fixture before Gareth Southgate's side made it to the quarter-finals.

Southgate's successor is Tuchel, a Champions League and world club winner at Chelsea who has claimed league championships in Ligue 1 and his home country.

Bellamy was previously an assistant at the Belgian side and Burnley to Kompany, who replaced Tuchel at the German giants.

"Tuchel's an outstanding manager - his record speak for themselves," he added.

"I have some sort of understanding because the club he left I know individuals who have gone in there. I gain a glimpse there of how he works and it's remarkable. "

"His strategic planning is elite and I aimed to be facing that - observe how we adjust because he adapts too. I can learn from it. I'd love to reach such heights."
